“The Best” Reviewed July 10, 2012. "Went to Lewisburg for the Greenbrier golf tournament as i am a caddie on the PGA tour. Myself and a fellow caddie went there for the first time on Wednesday night and after the first experience we booked in and ate there 5 nights in a row. I am a foodie and this is one of the best restaurants i have eaten in throughout my expansive travels of the world, if not the best! The owner Destiny does an amazing job with her warm hospitality, always making sure the experience was great but not overwhelming, the rest of the staff were also great. As for the food i cant wait to go back! A must if you love food!"
“What a gem! ”Reviewed June 21, 2012. We chose this restaurant because of the other excellent reviews in Trip Advisor. If anything, it exceeded the ratings. Excellent food, attentive staff, low key but elegant. Recommend the "trust me" salad and the quiche of the day, and the toffee pudding cake. We will be back!
We are committed to keeping our restaurant green! We recycle, use bio-degradable take out containers, use only fair trade coffees and teas; all our fish is from sustainable sources, we buy locally whenever possible and use the finest ingredients from local artisan chefs. We use biodegradable cleaners and recycled paper towels. We hope you do the same. Our mission is to Show the Love to our planet and each other.
To serve the highest quality food with ultimate flavor, wonderful wines, top quality coffees and fresh baked pastries and bread; and to provide a wonderful dining experience that is reflected in delicious food, an intimate leisure atmosphere, delicious food and drink and great service.
From our pastries, made by The Crazy Baker, who gave up a secure profession as a jet mechanic to follow his passion for fine pastries, to our bread maker, Jeff, who traveled the world to pursue the art of breadmaking, we bring you the best quality possible. We use locally grown and harvested products when possible, we use organic when we can, we insist on fair trade for our purveyors and use recycled products where possible, such as the paper used in our to-go coffee cups. This all costs us more but we feel that you deserve the best. We strive to bring you the best service, the warmest environment and the best food, and hope that we have achieved this for you.
We opened on Valentine’s Day, 2005. I named the café ‘Stardust’ as a nod to Ms. Clingman, the remarkable woman who ran a restaurant in this very location, and my mother, who both joined the stars in the same year. They were friends and two extraordinary women. My plan for the café, and what came to be, was light years apart.
I thought we were going to be a sleepy little family run coffee shop, run by my daughter Sparrow, with top quality pastries made by my twin brother, ‘The Crazy Baker’.
But the café and its guests had something else in mind. Soon we were a robust gathering place where guests mingle among tables, where friendships and romances begin and appetites are satisfied. Soon we realized that help was needed and Anja came aboard, followed shortly thereafter by Lori and Lorrie. We now have a dozen wonderful employees!
The demand for high quality food and great service in a casual atmosphere became apparent. Unwilling to compromise on quality, I felt a partnership with our customers. Quality ingredients, including European butter, extra virgin olive oil, fresh local vegetables, local artisan bread, lovely pastries, organic local beef, fair-trade coffees, wonderful wines from around the world, and micro-brewed beer, are all included as our everyday fare!
But we are only half of the equation; you are the other. Our customers have been remarkable in their grace, loyal support, compliments and joy of life that make our combined experience so wonderful. And for you we are grateful.Thank you! Destiny
We take dinner reservations; we recommend that you make one throughout the summer and fall season. Winter season is slower but we can't predict when we will be fully booked, so feel free to make one anytime that you would like to guarantee a table will be available. Call 304-647-3663.
